The investigation claims the worker, 56, was employed as a janitor at the Edward J. Healy Rehabilitation and Nursing Center in West Palm Beach, Florida.</p><p>In January, he allegedly used a metal handled mop to strike a 48-year old mentally disabled patient who lives at the nursing home facility. A nurse also employed by the facility witnessed the incident and he was fired as a result of <a href="http://www.northcountrygazette.org/articles/2007/022307StrikesResident.html">nursing home abuse</a>.<br /> <br />He is being charged with one count of aggravated battery, a second degree felony and one count of abuse of a disabled adult which is a third degree felony.
